Quenton White, Esq
Quenton White is the Founder of the White Law Group, PLLC. With offices in Nashville and Memphis, the White Law Group focuses on representing the business needs of small and emerging businesses, nonprofit organizations, and entertainment professionals. The Firm also is engaged in administrative and regulatory law and probate and estate administration.
Mr. White’s career is replete with leading large and small organizations both in and out of the legal profession. He began his legal career as a prosecutor and federal magistrate while serving as a Captain in the U. S. Army JAG Corps. Following military service, he was an attorney with the Federal Services Impasse Panel (FSIP) in Washington, DC, handling collective bargaining impasses between federal labor and management representatives. Upon Mr. White’s arrival in Nashville he practiced as a criminal defense lawyer with the Metropolitan Public Defender's Office but later left for the nonprofit industry to serve as Executive Director of 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee.
He returned to the practice of law to accept an appointment by President Bill Clinton to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. At the end of his tenure as U. S. Attorney, he re-entered the private section to engage in the practice of law with the Law Office of Quenton I. White, PLLC until asked by former Governor Phil Bredesen to serve as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Correction. Following service in state government, he spent a brief stint with the Grant-Parrish Group as a consultant engaged in matters of governance, compliance and internal investigations. He has been back in the private practice of law since 2007.
His practice is focused on myriad aspects of business incorporations, business transactions (planning, strategy, negotiation and drafting agreements), nonprofit law (particularly church and faith-based issues), and entertainment. Mr. White is currently involved in numerous local, regional and national activities and initiatives.
